Donna Beth (Schwendenman) Alonzi

Donna B. (Schwendenman) Alonzi, 61, of Marlborough, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 22, 2024. She was the loving wife of Mark Alonzi and mother of Michael Alonzi of Lowell and Gabrielle Alonzi of Marlborough.  She was predeceased by her mother, Barbara (Lynch) O’Brien.

Born in Milford, Massachusetts, Donna grew up in Medway, where she graduated from Medway High School as a member of the Class of 1981. She received an associate degree in medical administration from Becker Junior College in Worcester, where she made lifelong friendships. She worked in this field for almost 40 years.

Donna and Mark were married in 1995 and made their home in Marlborough for 25 years, raising Michael and Gabrielle. She was blessed to watch them graduate from college in recent years, in no small part a result of her and Mark’s love and guidance.

Never far from a camera or phone, Donna was a meticulous chronicler of family events and those moments that she had a knack for recognizing as being special. She particularly enjoyed scrapbooking and the many getaway “girls’ weekends. Sporting events, vacations, and trips to the beach with family and friends were commemorated by her passion.  These occasions will not be the same without her, but the memories she was instrumental in creating for us bring us smiles of happy remembrance.

In addition to her husband and children, Donna is survived by her brother, Daniel Schwendenman of Maryland, sister, Dale Stone of Hopedale, father, Kenneth Schwendenman of Florida, and mother-in-law, Patricia Alonzi of Waltham. She was a very special auntie to Amy and Kyle Schwendenman and Jenna and Grace Mandoni.

Throughout her life, Donna was selfless in her care and concern for others. Her family would like to thank all who provided care, comfort, and support in a similar way during the past few years.

Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 4-7 pm in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough, MA

A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 9 am in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough followed by burial in Linwood Cemetery, Boston Post Rd, Weston, MA.
