Kenneth Arnold Short, 68, died unexpectedly on Thursday December 27, 2018 at his home in Glover VT. He was the husband of Mary Elizabeth (Burke) Short to whom he was married for 50 years. Ken was born on June 19, 1950 in Haverhill Massachusetts to the late Hector Robert and Arlene Rose (Piquette) Short and lived there most of his life until moving to Vermont in 2006.
Ken was an industrial pipe fitter and oil burner technician. He worked many years for Cyr Oil in Lawrence and Foss Manufacturing in Hampton NH. After moving to Vermont he worked for Ethan Allan Furniture until his retirement in 2016.
Ken enjoyed spending time in a boat on the ocean and had a passion for fishing. He was a true “Jack of all trades” with an ability to take on most any task. Ken would lend his time and talents to all friends and family members in need.
Ken was a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and will be remembered most for his unmatched wit and sense of humor.
Besides his loving wife he is survived by two sons Bruce H. Short and Brian W. Short and daughter Jennifer L. Long-Reboulet and her husband Stephen J. Reboulet; one brother, Gerald Short and his wife Kathy; three sisters, Robin Bragdon, Donna Duford and Janet Allen; two sisters-in-law, Pamela Short and Linda Short; four grandsons, Joshua, Scott, Derek and Kenneth (KC) Short and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers Lawrence F. and William R. Short.
Private family funeral services will be held.
