Zelia C. (Pacheco) Leonardo

Zelia C. Leonardo, 91 of Marlborough, died on Monday, December 26, 2022, at the Reservoir Healthcare Center in Marlborough surrounded by her loving family.

Zelia was born in Furnas Sao Miguel, Azores, the daughter of the late Ernesto and Maria Jose (Pacheco) Costa.

She worked as an assembler for many years at R & R Donnelley, Book Printing before retiring in 1991.

She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Jose C. Leonardo in 2006.

Zelia is survived by her children, Duarte C. Leonardo and his wife Mariana of New Bedford, Maria L. Domingues and her husband Duarte of Marlborough, Ligia C. Leonardo of Hudson, 7 grandchildren, Daniel, Melanie, Michael, Kevin, Adam, Christina and David, 6 great grandchildren, Cameron, Jayla, Kyra, Lucas, Nicholas and Isabella, 6 brothers and sisters, Lucilia Costa and her husband Antonio, Jose Costa and his wife Clementina all of New Bedford, Sarafina Costa, Maria De Deus, Frank Costa all of Canada and Maria Jose Borges of NC.

She was predeceased by her grandson Jason Leonardo in 2019 and by her sister Conceicao Costa.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough, MA.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 31, at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough, burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson St.
