Mary Elizabeth “Betty” (Neary) Silver, 85, died Friday January 29, 2021, surrounded by her children. She was the wife of 51 years of the late Martin Silver who died in 2011. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late James and Rose (Kelly) Neary and lived in Framingham for 53 years. She is survived by a brother, Joseph, and sisters Roseann, Patricia and Barbara and predeceased by Joan, James and Robert, with whom she shared tremendous love and laughter.
She is survived by three sons: Mark Silver and his wife Susan of Charlotte N.C., James Silver and his wife Julie of Northborough, Daniel Silver and his wife Kate of Falmouth, five daughters: Catherine Doyle of Charlotte NC, Regina Silver and her husband Richard Lundstrom of Shrewsbury, Mary Patricia Silver of Framingham, Annemarie Silver and her husband Jeff Cooper of Holliston, Maureen Silven and her husband Brian of Bellingham. She welcomed and loved nineteen grandchildren: Paul, Mark, Kristin, Jackie, Shannon, Hailey, Harrison, Alex, Emily, Olivia, Anna, Zach, Max , Kirsten, Molly, Emma, Grant, and six great grandchildren.
Her finest attributes were her zest for life, her sense of humor, and her love of children. She was fiercely proud of her Irish heritage and being a Brooklynite and boasted about being crowned May queen in 8th grade. All her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren agree, “She made home happy.”
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic all funeral arrangements will be private. A memorial mass celebrating her life will be held later this year.
