Elsa DiTullio Obituary

Elsa M. (Micozzi) DiTullio, 90, died peacefully on Palm Sunday, March 28 after a period of declining health. For 59 years she was married to her late husband, Battista, who died in 2010. Born in Filetto, Italy, the daughter of the late Antonino and Laura (D’Ottavio) Micozzi, she, her husband, and infant daughter, Filomena, immigrated to Framingham in 1956 aboard the Andrea Doria. In 1984 Elsa and Battista moved to Marlborough, where she continued as the DiTullio Construction Company bookkeeper. Their dream of having a mini farm with a beautiful vegetable garden, barn, and small animals became their passion.  Elsa’s green thumb yielded abundant fruits and vegetables that she preserved and also sold at the local Farmer’s market with her grandchildren. Elsa tended to her garden lovingly, and generously shared her produce with family and friends.

Elsa’s greatest source of pride and joy was taking care of her family. She claimed that babysitting for her grandchildren were the “best days of her life.” She was a generous, selfless, and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by a daughter, Filomena Connor and her husband Paul of Southborough, and a son, Paul DiTullio and his wife Patricia of Marlborough. She was “Nana” to 5 grandchildren: Jacqualyn Miele and her husband Michael, Paul DiTullio, Timothy Connor and his wife Meghan, Matthew Connor, and Micaela Murphy and her husband Michael, as well as 4 great grandchildren; Domenic, Isabella, Joseph and Gabriel. Her family will miss her immeasurably. Elsa was predeceased by her 6 older siblings. She leaves several nieces and nephews in the United States and in Italy. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Due to Covid precautions, there will be no Visitation. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Elsa’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or www.stjude.org
