Carleen C. (Delude) Simoneau

     Carleen C.  (Delude) Simoneau, 90, of Marlborough MA passed away peacefully on Friday November 12, 2021 at Beaumont  Nursing Home in Westborough with family at her bedside. She was born December 29, 1930 in Gardner MA, the daughter of the late Clarence and Mildred (Baker) Delude.
     She leaves behind her husband Norman P. Simoneau of Marlborough, also a resident at Beaumont. They were happily married and celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in July of 2021.
Carleen was a graduate of St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing class of 1953. She was a loving and compassionate nurse and always went above and beyond caring for her patients. She worked at Marlborough Hospital, Cushing Hospital in Framingham, the Framingham Heart Study and retired in 1993 while working at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton. She came out of retirement for a few years and worked at a local nursing home.
     Carleen leaves her four daughters, Peg Richards and her late husband Bill of Marlborough, Maryann Cooney and her husband Rick of Marlborough, Maureen Callahan and her husband Dennis of Milford and Kathy Barsano and her husband Ken of North Kingstown, RI. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and friends.
     Carleen and her husband enjoyed traveling with friends. Some of her favorite trips included Alaska, Hawaii and Sweden. Carleen and Norman were on a river cruise in Germany during the 9/11 attack. She also spent many years enjoying her timeshare on Cape Cod.

     Carleen was an avid Bruins fan, starting at a young age going to games with her father who held season tickets. Her feistiness showed most when the Bruins were losing a game. While her husband was always the life of a party she never missed the opportunity for a witty joke or limerick.

 Her greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family. Her children, grandchildren and especially great grandchildren brought her a tremendous amount joy. She will be forever missed.

     Her funeral will be held on Thursday November 18 at 11:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St. Marlborough.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the Short&Rowe Funeral Home (www.shortandrowefuneralhome.com), 95 West Main St. Marlborough
