Marco Island, Florida and North Weymouth-
Wayne A. Roache, 78, of Marco Island, FL and North Weymouth and a former Whitman resident, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017. Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late Esther (Sturdevant) and Joseph A. Roache. He was the husband of Patricia (Bonina) Roache of Marco Island and formerly of Marlborough.
Wayne had been a resident of Marco Island, Florida for many years. He enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time with friends and family. Prior to his retirement, Wayne had owned and operated Alco Machine in Braintree and was also a Veteran of the Marine Corps.
In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by his children, Wayne Michael Roache and his wife Laurie of E. Bridgewater, MA, Mark Roache and his wife Toni of Taunton, and Kathleen Hurley and her husband Jack of Whitman; his step-children, Rick Barry and his wife Nadine of Worcester, and Jennifer Dolan and her husband Ed of Blackstone. He also leaves behind two brothers, Larry Roache of Whitman and Donald Roache of Nashua, NH; as well as 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 11th from 9:00-11:15 a.m. at the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home in Marlborough. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 11th at 12:00p.m. at St. Matthias Catholic Church in Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Marlborough.
