Sheryl J. Bird, 67, died unexpectedly Saturday March 11.   She was born in Norwalk CT, the daughter of the late R. Kenyon and Joan (Barrett) Bird and lived in Marlborough for over thirty years.   
Sheryl was a dedicated veterinary assistant , working at the Framingham Animal Hospital for many years before having to retire due to health issues.   She had a particular fondness for cats.  Sheryl was an avid reader.
She is survived by three sisters; Judith Purcell of Fla., Linda Rausch of CA and Patricia Bird of Boston and many nieces and nephews.  
Her funeral will be held on Friday March 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St. Marlborough.   Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Marlborough.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Animal Rescue League, 10 Chandler St. Boston MA 02116.
