Our warmest condolences to the Sandini Family at the passing of your mother. Ruthie and Helen (Donahue) O’Brien were friends over a life time. Before Helen passed away last June, she would reminisce and mentioned Ruthie with heartfelt fondness. Now the girlfriends are enjoying each other’s company and watching over their loved ones.

Jim, Jean, Luke and Siena,
I have wonderful memories of visiting with Aunt Ruthie in Marlboro and later in Berlin. As a young child I vividly remember her allowing me to give a "cookie" to Bootsie, but only after Aunt Ruthie told her to "smile," which she obediently did. I had never seen a dog smile, and I was certain that Aunt Ruthie had magic powers.
I remember her to always be welcoming, kind and loving, taking an interest in me and my brothers and what was happening in our lives. I was proud that I could say my Aunt was "Miss Marlboro" and loved to hear her tell the story of receiving that honor. She remained a close and special friend to my Mom up until her passing in 2005.
We were so very blessed to be able to live near to Uncle Tony and Aunt Ruthie and be close with our cousins Al and Jimmy. I know you will miss her greatly, but I also know that one day we will all be reunited in heaven, as our Catholic faith teaches us. What a glorious day that will be!!!
I will be with you in thought over the next few days, weeks and months which will undoubtedly be difficult for you all. Take comfort in knowing that she is at peace, without pain, knowing only joy and being reunited with her beloved Tony.
