Ruth W. (Cummings) Ryan, 96, died Wednesday evening September 11 after a short period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Robert H. Ryan Sr. who died in 1998. They were married for 58 years. She was born in Hudson, the daughter of the late Edgar and Florence Nightingale (Stockwell) Cummings and was a life long resident of Hudson.

She is survived by two daughters; Roberta Chapman of Framingham and Linda Ryan of Prt St. Lucie Fla and many grandchildren. She was predeceased by four sons; Robert H. Ryan Jr., Norman C. Ryan, Daniel C. Ryan and Dennis M. Ryan.

Private funeral arrangements will be held at a later date.
