Enes DiAntonio,92, died Saturday morning December 9, 2017  She was the wife of the late John DiAntonio Sr. who died in 1985.  She was born in West Boylston, the daughter of the late Vincent and Marietta (Prosperi) Francolini and lived most of her life in Marlborough.

Enes was a well known Marlborough businesswoman having established the Oxford Restaurant , on Mechanic St. in 1946, with her husband John and her brother Sergio “Sarge” Francolini.  In 1961 the family expanded the popular restaurant and moved into larger quarters.  In 1969, after being destroyed by fire, the Oxford Restaurant moved to its location on Lakeside Ave. 

After the retirement of her brother  “Sarge” in 1977 she operated the restaurant with her husband until he became ill and retired in 1980.  She then operated the restaurant with her son John Jr.  until the business was sold.

Enes was a longtime member of the former Saint Ann’s Church in Marlborough where she was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality

She is survived by two daughters; Doreen DiAntonio of Milford, Donna Coveney of Harwich Port, one son; John DiAntonio Jr. of Harwich, three grandchildren , six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Sergio “Sarge” and Walter Francolini.

Her funeral, under the direction of the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home of Marlborough, was held last week.
