Elinor H. Hansen, 75, died Saturday December 22 after a short period of failing health. She was born in Watertown, the daughter of the late Walter and Helen Hansen, and lived in Marlborough for the last 40 years.
She worked her entire career caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse, the last 25 of which were for Marlborough Hospital before retiring 5 years ago.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, enjoyed cross stictching and quilting, and loved to travel with her friends. Known as Ellie, Grammie or Twosie, her home was always open to friends and family to come and enjoy summer at the lake.
She is survived by her son Michael Hansen and his wife Rebecca of Hudson, her 4 grandchildren, Daniel and Jonathan Wharton and Corinne and Kyle Hansen, her sister Judy Maher and her husband Jerry of Haverhill, and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday evening from 4-7 pm in the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St. Marlborough.
