David Keefe Obituary

Marlborough

David “Dave” Keefe, 75, died Wednesday April 4 after a short period of failing health.  He was the husband of Leona (DiMaria) Keefe to whom he was married for 15 years and together for 35 years.  He was born in Arlington, the son of the late Michael and Ellen “Nel” (Walsh) Keefe.

Dave’s career began in woodworking/picture framing, moved into hi-fi/stereo and then electronics.  He worked for Raytheon Company for 30 years as an Engineering Aide before retiring.

A love for cars made him his own mechanic; thanking his father and uncle for training him.

He enjoyed fishing, boating, bowling and golf.  He had a passion for sports.  His beloved Red Sox were his favorite; next were the Celtics and Patriots and all of their respective sportscasters.  Locally, he followed the Marlborough Shamrocks.

Dave volunteered as a Transportation Ambassador for the Mayor’s Transportation Task Force of Marlborough.  He had a deep  interest in politics, their issues and good debates.

Dave was a loyal member of the Marlborough lode of the  Fraternal Order of Eagles from 1977 through the present.

Dave loved and cared for all of his family in his own private and reserved way.  When he changed from being reserved, “watch out”.  He enjoyed being a jokester and prankster at home and the office.  He got such a big belly laugh at good jokes and his pranks.

Besides his wife,  he is survived by two daughters; Michelle Keefe of Hudson, Andrea Palmatier and her husband Jason of Shrewsbury, a son William Keefe of Malden, six grandchildren; Kati, Gabrielle, Charles, Lena, Sean and Katie, two great grandchildren; Gianna and Brayden and four nieces and nephews; Trish Pope, Michael Keefe, Dan Keefe and Kathy Keefe-Tynan.  He was predeceased by two brothers Jeremiah M. and Philip “Mike” Keefe.

In honor of Dave’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.
