MARLBOROUGH:
Bernard F. “Bernie” Gaibisso, 63, a lifelong Marlborough resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Marlborough Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Marlborough, he was the son of the late Francis B. “Gabby” and Ruth (Condon) Gaibisso.
Bernie was a graduate of Marlborough High School Class of 1972 and was employed at Town Paint in Marlborough. In 1977, Bernie suffered a traumatic brain injury in an automobile accident.
After the passing of his parents, he was able to live alone at home with help and support from outside agencies, friends and neighbors.
Bernie was able to stay very active at the Immaculate Conception Church in Marlborough where he also served as an usher.
Over the past two years, Bernie was a resident at the Marlborough Hills Health Care Center.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 25, from 4 to 6 P.M. in the William R. Short & Son Funeral Home, 95 West Main St., Marlborough.
A Funeral service will be held at 6:00 P.M. following the calling hours.
A private burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Marlborough on a later date.
