Donna Jean (Caughey) Collett

Donna Jean (Caughey) Collett, 77, of Marlborough passed peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Donna was born in Waltham, MA, the daughter of the late Frank W. and Florence (Lent) Caughey.  She was the devoted wife of Lester Collett to whom she was married to for 58 years.

Donna enjoyed knitting and it was a true expression of her creativity. Her creations were truly works of art and always a labor of love. She was an amazing cook and baker. Anyone who visited her home never left without a goody bag in hand. Her bread, cookies and chicken soup were legendary.  Donna was incredibly generous and kind. She lovingly cared for her husband, family and neighbors, never forgetting a birthday or anniversary. Later in life, she volunteered with Kits for Kids knitting hundreds of items for children in need.

Donna is survived by her husband, Lester Collett, their closest friends Garry and Martha Richards of Waltham, her “niece” Lesley Richards, “nephew” Matthew Richards, her “grandchildren” Taylor (Amanda), Jordan (Gina), Eden and Lila, one “great grandchild” Maddox, her nephew Christopher Caughey of Laconia, and her cousin Robert Henry Jewett of New Hampshire. 

She was predeceased by her brother, Frank “Skip” Caughey.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024 from 4-6 PM in the Short and Rowe Funeral Home, 95 West Main Street, Marlborough, MA 01752.  

Burial will be at a later date.
