Marlborough

James Mark Leighton, 63, of Marlborough, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017. Born in Bridgeport, CT he was the son of the late Alice (Monteiro) and Leo Leighton.

James received his BS in Management from Boston University. He immediately joined Raytheon as a Contracts Administrator and worked in a number of locations, finally settling in Marlborough.  He was a devout Catholic, and was an active congregant of the Good Shepard Church at New Horizons in Marlborough.  An ardent fan of all things sports, he was a passionate follower of the Patriots, Celtics, and Red Sox.

He is survived by his son, James Komarowsky, wife Jana and son Johnny of Aurora, CO; his siblings, Ken Leighton and his wife Jackie of Lake Grove, NY, Lenore Leighton-Pollock of Sterling, VA; nieces and nephews, Leo Pollock, Alicia Leighton, Tonya Proffitt and a great-nephew, Justis Fuentes. He is predeceased by his brother, Dennis Leighton.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 6th from 8:30-10:00a.m. at the William R. Short Funeral Home, 95 West Main St. Marlborough. A funeral mass will take place at 11:00a.m. at Good Shepard Center, 406 Hemenway St. Marlborough. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Marlborough. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory may be made to National MS Society of Greater New England, 101A First Ave. Waltham, MA 02451 or nationalmssociety.org

To the entire Leighton family, my sincere sympathy for your loss. Once again, a member of our family has been called home too soon. I will keep Jimmy in my prayers.

Our prayers go out to the Leighton family, working at Dr.Rosenbaum's office I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to Jim weekly sometimes daily for the last 15 years, I will sure miss our talks and his caring heart, he's with the angels now, no more pain for you now Jim, you Rest In Peace, love you and will never forget you.
