William A. Floyd, 89, died Thursday Jan. 10, 2013 at the Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center. He was the beloved husband of Lena (Caruso) Floyd, loving father of 3 daughters; Kathleen Ford and her husband Richard of Marlborough, Maria Newell of Medway, Evelyn Matusek and her husband Jim of Peabody, the loving grandfather of five grandchildren; Desiree, Kevin, Christopher, Brandon and Jason and 3 great grandchildren; Caden, Liam and Olivia. Mr. Floyd is also survived by one sister Betty Stratton and her husband Merrill of Westboro and was predeceased by one grandson Shane.
Mr. Floyd was born in Wesleyville PA, the son of the late Richard A. and Ada (Hayes) Floyd, and lived in Marlborough the last 28 years. He was a decorated veteran of the United States Navy serving in WWII in the European, African and Middle Eastern campaigns. Mr. Floyd went on to work as a foreman for the former Data General for many years and was a long time member of the Siloam Masonic Lodge in Westboro.
At the request of the family, funeral arrangements are private. Arrangements are under the direction of the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home(www.shortfuneral.com) of Marlborough. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.com.

Papa,
Two weeks today and not a day goes by that I don't think of you.
I hope you liked your memorial service I thought it was beautiful.
